Biography
In 2022, Sir Lewis Hamilton joined the Walton-Penner Family Ownership Group, for his first season as an owner of the Denver Broncos.
As Seven-Time Formula One™ World Champion, Hamilton is considered the most successful F1 driver of all time. In addition to his record-tying number of World Championships, he holds the record for most wins, pole positions and podium finishes.

Currently competing for Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team, as the first and only Black working class driver, he has excelled in a sport where the odds were stacked against him. This includes an unprecedented six World Championships in a seven-year span from 2014-20.
Hamilton made his F1 debut in 2007 with McLaren and completed one of the most remarkable rookie performances in history, finishing as runner-up in the World Drivers' Championship by just a single point. A year later, he became the then-youngest Formula One World Champion in the history of the sport.
In addition to his dominance on the racetrack, Hamilton is a fierce advocate for global equality and has become a prominent voice in support of combatting racism and pushing for increased diversity in motorsport and beyond.
Named one of TIME magazine's "100 most influential people in the world" in 2020, Hamilton was also recognized as the inaugural recipient of the 2021 Laureus Athlete Advocate of the Year Award for his involvement in the fight for racial equality.
In June 2020, he established The Hamilton Commission, alongside the Royal Academy of Engineering in London, in order to identify the barriers to the recruitment and progression of Black people in UK motorsport. The final report provided ten recommendations to overcome these barriers, which included ways to engage young Black students with science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
Building on the recommendations of The Hamilton Commission, Hamilton went on to launch Mission 44, his charitable foundation created to support, champion, empower youth from underserved communities to succeed through narrowing opportunity gaps in education, employment and wider society.
In addition to his charitable commitments, Hamilton has a keen eye for the next big strategic investment and exciting project. He has proven himself to be an engaged and dedicated leader and partner of various organisations and is passionate about amplifying the importance of Black ownership and equity in business and beyond.
At the end of 2020, Hamilton was awarded a Knighthood by HRH The Queen in the New Year's Honours list for his services to motorsport, with the knighthood ceremony being conducted by the Prince of Wales in December 2021.
Hamilton has maintained a residence in Colorado for many years, spending time in the state during the winter months and racing offseason.
