Manning to receive 2015 Bart Starr Award

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. --Broncos quarterback and three-time offensive captain Peyton Manning will be recognized by his peers on Friday, Jan. 30 at the Athletes in Action Super Bowl Breakfast in Phoenix, Ariz.



Manning was chosen by the players of the NFL to receive the 2015 Bart Starr Award, an annual honor given to a player who exemplifies character and leadership on and off the field.

Saints tight end Benjamin Watson and Raiders defensive end Justin Tuck were the other finalists for the 2015 honor. Past winners of the award include Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Kurt Warner, Jason Witten, LaDainian Tomlinson and Reggie White.

The event is expected to be attended by 1,900 business executives and will feature guests including Bart Starr Jr. -- the son of the Packers' QB for whom the award was named -- Tony Dungy, Steve Largent and John Lynch.
