Kenny Anunike hosts movie screening for Boys & Girls club

Approximately 75 kids from the Denver Broncos and Owen Boys & Girls Club branches joined 30 Broncos employees and guests for an advance screening of Star Trek Beyond in Denver Tuesday evening. Defensive end Kenny Anunike, a 2015 Denver Broncos Community Ambassador award winner and regular Boys & Girls Clubs volunteer, hosted the screening on behalf of the team.

"I love those kids. They're great. I know they all have a story just like myself," Anunike said. "Being able to connect with them and go out there and have a good time to take their minds off the troubles they've already faced in a short time period in their life – that's awesome."

Denver Broncos OLB Vontarrius Dora, DE Adam Gotsis, OT Lars Hanson and CB Taurean Nixon were also in attendance for the screening.

Guests were treated to complimentary popcorn and soda and enjoyed seeing the sequel before it opens in theatres this Friday, July 22.

"I know they really enjoyed it and really appreciated it," Anunike said. "As I was on my way back to my car after the movie, the bus had stopped and I heard a whole bunch of kids yell, 'Thank you. Thanks for everything.' That really made my night and made it worthwhile."
