ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Cornerback Pat Surtain II has earned another major recognition.
The Broncos' lockdown corner was voted the No. 10 player in the NFL on the 2025 NFL Top 100 list, which is determined annually by votes from players across the league.
Surtain's selection marks the third time in his career that he has appeared on the list, and his placement inside the top 10 reflects a dramatic leap from recent years. After being ranked No. 49 in 2023 and No. 52 in 2024, Surtain soared into the top tier following a Defensive Player of the Year campaign in 2024.
The former first-round pick out of Alabama rounded out Denver's group on the list, joining No. 38 outside linebacker Nik Bonitto, No. 64 quarterback Bo Nix and No. 90 defensive lineman Zach Allen.
At just 25 years old, the fifth-year corner has already established himself among the league's elite. In 2024, he earned a list of accolades after tying a career high with four interceptions, recording 11 passes defensed, forcing and recovering a fumble and tallying 45 total tackles. He also became just the 10th player in league history to win Defensive Player of the Year and earn a pair of first-team All-Pro nods within his first four seasons.
The numbers behind Surtain's dominance highlight his reputation as one of the game's premier defenders. According to Next Gen Stats, among cornerbacks with at least 400 coverage snaps in 2024, Surtain ranked first in fewest yards allowed (306), fewest yards allowed per coverage snap (0.6), lowest target rate (10.9 percent) and fewest air yards per target (7.1).
Surtain's consistent success has also been recognized with multiple Pro Bowl selections and first-team All-Pro honors throughout his career.
