Broncos waive OLB Quanterus Smith

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos announced on Tuesday that they waived/failed physical outside linebacker Quanterus Smith.

Smith appeared in 15 games in 2014 before his season ended on injured reserve following a knee injury. He recorded 11 combined tackles and two passes defensed. His rookie season was spent on injured reserve, recovering and rehabbing from an ACL injury sustained in his senior season at Western Kentucky.

Smith, named Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year for his 12.5-sack senior season campaign, was selected in the fifth round by the Broncos with the 146th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.
