Broncos fans share favorite football memories

What attracts people to sports is such simple question, yet one that draws a very diverse array of responses. The value of bringing people together or giving people an interest outside of the everyday doldrums is something that escapes easy evaluation. And so it is with football. The roots are often deep within us, but there's always a memory that ties it all together.

Together We Make Football is an outlet devoted to finding just that. Giving fans of the game a place to share their favorite memories that made them football devotees has shone light on formative experiences for many of the people that make football so great. Without further ado, here are a few of our favorite ones so far.

Amber's story takes us back to 1998. Her brother was diagnosed with two types of Leukemia, but they had to travel to Denver from Thailand for treatment. Broncos games proved to be their bonding moments of choice for their family through the trying time. That December, Amber's brother got a transplant and a few months later, the Broncos would be world champions. During the Super Bowl Parade, their family created a memorable moment, taking him to the parade and painting his head with the Broncos logo to celebrate.

Sonja's love for football goes back even further. Starting with an interest while she was in high school, she would continue to cheer for Colorado teams at every level. Her family eventually began to attend Broncos game at the old Mile High Stadium, and once her son became an offensive lineman in high school and college, she found more reason to spread her love of the game to other teams at other levels.

Paul shares with us the story of Estonia's only American football club. Coach Barry Mitchell has shared his love of football by spreading it to interested kids in Europe.
