Denver Broncos | News

Broncos, Briefly: Monday, April 22, 2019

There's not a perfect player on the board for Vic Fangio's defense, but so many teams need a rangy sideline-to-sideline linebacker (Pittsburgh would love for him to drop to 20, but I don't see it), and many think [Devin] Bush would be a great compliment to edge-rushers Von Miller and Bradley Chubb. Four or five teams between 10 and 20 would have serious interest in Bush if he falls past 10.

Level of need: High. Who's the right guard? Who's the swing tackle? Is McGovern the center? Myriad questions for the Broncos to figure out before the start of training camp. They spent big money to sign James in free agency to solidify right tackle. Drafting two players to start right away is a big ask, but don't be surprised if one rookie starts in Week 1 along the offensive line.

Based on their offseason vetting of draft picks, it seems certain the Broncos will select a defensive lineman. Maybe not with their No. 10 pick, although there have been some mocksters who have the Broncos taking Houston defensive lineman Ed Oliver.

More likely the Broncos would get their defensive lineman somewhere in rounds 2 through 4, at least based on their pre-draft visit pattern.

**Drew Lock calls it “pretty cool” meeting John Elway** (Charean Williams, Pro Football Talk)

"It was pretty unique," Lock said on Chris Simms Unbuttoned. "It just came full circle where he played ball, he got recruited by the Broncos, played for the Broncos and did what he did there which was nothing short of outstanding. Now, he's a part of that staff, trying to find another quarterback. For me to be up for that, for him to spend time with me sitting down watching film and having me install a play, just to have it come full circle where one of the better quarterbacks of all-time is now wanting me to play quarterback for him possibly, it was pretty cool."
