ENGLEWOOD, Colo.** — The Broncos have activated linebacker Danny Trevathan from injured reserve and promoted tight end Dominique Jones to the 53-man roster, the team announced Saturday.

Also on Saturday, the Broncos placed running back Montee Ball and safety Quinton Carter on injured reserve.

Trevathan totaled seven defensive stops (6 solo) in two games (1 start) for the Broncos this season. He was inactive for Denver's first three contests and was eventually placed on injured reserve (designated for return) on Oct. 14.

The third-year player, who was selected by the Broncos in the sixth round (188th overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft from the University of Kentucky, has appeared in 34 career regular-season games (17 starts) for the Broncos. His totals include 162 tackles (112 solo), three sacks (18 yds.), three interceptions (29 yds.), 12 passes defensed, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

Trevathan, who led the Broncos with a career-best 125 tackles (85 solo) in 2013, has also contributed 24 tackles (18 solo) in four career postseason games (3 starts).

Jones, a third-year player who spent the last 13 weeks competing on Denver's practice squad, has appeared in 12 career games (3 starts) with Indianapolis (2012-13) and Kansas City (2013), totaling three receptions for 42 yards (14.0 avg.).

Signed by the Colts as a college free agent on April 30, 2012, Jones also spent a portion of his rookie season on Miami's practice squad and most recently competed with the Buffalo Bills during the preseason in 2014.

Jones played with the Reading Express of the Indoor Football League and the Sacramento Mountain Lions of the United Football League following his collegiate career at Shepherd University.
