Injury Report: Von Miller among seven Broncos held out of Wednesday's practice

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Seven players on the Broncos' 53-man roster did not participate in Wednesday's practice, including outside linebacker Von Miller.

Head Coach Vic Fangio revealed before practice that Miller would not participate but said "so far, things are looking OK for him."

Miller underwent testing on his knee earlier this week, according to Fangio. The Broncos' head coach said Monday that he thought Miller was fine.

Cornerback Duke Dawson Jr. (concussion), defensive end Shelby Harris (ankle), linebacker Josey Jewell (ankle) and linebacker Alexander Johnson (knee) were also held out with injuries.

"We're hopeful that they'll be fine by the end of the week," said Fangio of Harris and Jewell on Monday.

Cornerback Chris Harris Jr. and defensive end Derek Wolfe did not practice for non-injury related reasons.

Linebacker Justin Hollins (hamstring), guard Ron Leary (shoulder/neck), center Connor McGovern (back) and wide receiver Tim Patrick (shoulder) were all listed as limited.

Tight end Jeff Heuerman (knee), tackle Ja'Wuan James (knee), linebacker Joe Jones (foot), safety Will Parks (hand) and guard Dalton Risner (ankle) were full participants.

"We'll see where he's at," Fangio said of James' status before practice.

Fangio said earlier in the week that James was physically cleared but must be "mentally ready to play [and] emotionally ready to play."

Wide receiver Courtland Sutton, who suffered an ankle injury against the Bills in Week 12, was not listed on the injury report. Fangio said Wednesday he was "OK."

Fangio also addressed the status of cornerback Cyrus Jones, whom the Broncos designated as reserve/non-football injury on Tuesday.

"He's got a non-football health issue that needs to be taken care of," Fangio said. "It's going to require some tests and decisions. We just decided that it's in his best interest to get all that rectified right now."
