ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Running back Phillip Lindsay (wrist) and wide receiver Andre Holmes (ankle) have been placed on injured reserve ahead of the Broncos' final game, Head Coach Vance Joseph said Friday.

Both players suffered their injuries on Monday night against the Raiders.

Lindsay, who injured his wrist on a 7-yard carry in the third quarter, faces surgery and a three-to-four-month rehab process.

The rookie running back's season officially ends with 1,037 rushing yards, 241 receiving yards and 10 total touchdowns in 15 games. Lindsay set a new Broncos record for rushing yards by an undrafted rookie and also earned a Pro Bowl selection.

Lindsay finished the season 68 rushing yards shy of passing Dominic Rhodes for the all-time undrafted rookie rushing record.

Holmes, who suffered a high-ankle sprain against the Raiders, did not practice this week.

The Broncos signed him in early December after Emmanuel Sanders suffered a season-ending Achilles injury. Holmes tallied one catch in three games.

Joseph said the Broncos had signed two players to the active roster who were not currently on Denver's practice squad.

"Physicals have to be done here in the afternoon before we can confirm those moves," Joseph said. "But it was outside of the building, those moves were."

Joseph said those two players were unlikely to play Sunday against the Chargers.

"It was more about future contracts than it was for Sunday," Joseph said.

Tight end Matt LaCosse (ankle) and Brendan Langley (concussion) are both expected to be available against the Chargers, as neither player was given an injury designation for Sunday's game.

LaCosse missed Monday night's game against Oakland after being listed as questionable, and he was limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday. LaCosse was a full participant Friday.

Langley was also a full participant after clearing concussion protocol on Thursday.
