Broncos get the No. 1 seed with a win

DENVER --For the Broncos, the possibilities are as simple as they get: Win and earn the No. 1 seed.

Miami's 20-10 upset of the Patriots gives the Broncos a chance to have home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs if they can defeat San Diego.

A loss and a Chiefs win over Oakland would drop Denver all the way to the No. 5 seed.

The Broncos came into the day with the possibility of earning the No. 1, 2, 3, 5 or 6 seed. Their potential seedings are now narrowed to the No. 1, 3 or 5 seeds because of the early-afternoon results.

... They will be the No. 5 seed if the Chiefs defeat the Raiders and will play at Houston in the wild-card-round.
