Broncos Excited About Possibility of Adding Woodson

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- The Broncos have already added five Pro Bowls to their roster with the signing of wide receiver Wes Welker earlier this offseason.

Now the team is hoping to add eight more if free agent Charles Woodson decides to join the team as well.

Woodson visited Dove Valley last week and some of the Broncos had a chance to talk to him as he toured the facility.

"We're always looking to add great players," quarterback Peyton Manning said. "That has been pretty evident since the time I've been here that management is always looking to add excellent football players through the draft or via free agency. I had a chance to visit with Charles when he was here last week and certainly, that'd be a great addition to our team. I know there is the business side of it that comes into play, but there's no question that any time you can add good football players at any position, I think that's always a good thing."

The addition of Woodson would add another player to the already crowded position battle in the secondary.

That is something that safety Rahim Moore would welcome.

"I was excited (that he visited)," Moore said. "I hope that we get him because I'm all about competition. I never run from it, ever. And I'll be happy to say I played with two Hall of Famers in my career—actually, three (including S Brian Dawkins)—in my same DB room. So, I mean, Charles Woodson, I grew up watching. So, if they bring him in, I'm going to be excited."

Cornerback Champ Bailey is currently the elder statesman of the secondary, but said he would welcome the addition of Woodson, who was drafted one year before him.

"I'm all for it," Bailey said. "Who wouldn't want to have a guy like that on their team?"
