Ball's Rookie Journal: Prepping for Dallas

We've got Dallas this week, and it's most definitely no secret that their front four is a strength of the defense, for sure. Obviously the number one player, we all know, is DeMarcus Ware. He's most definintely been doing some great things. For us, it's just keep doing what we've been doing. That's just the main thing for us, keep practicing well, which we have been, then going out there and performing.

Today, practice came in the snow. That was a shocker to me, because I'm so used to college. You see snow like that in Wisconsin, it's like, alright, take it into the indoor field. But out here, we've got work to do. They did a great job clearing it off and we went out there and had a great practice. No one hesitated, no one was complaining and we did our thing out there today.

As far as my play, obviously with what I did shooting myself in the foot a couple times before, I most definitely have learned from it. I'm sure the coaches have seen that I've been learning from it. I've put a lot more emphasis on protecting the ball in practice, catching it and securing it quick. I'm enjoying the process. Whenever my number is called, I'm going to be there to perform.

Being in this offense, it's pretty fun, man. Number 18, he's really impressive. You really don't notice it until you're actually back there and you see it, then every day working with him, he's been doing some great things. He puts us all in great positions.

This Sunday, obviously it's a tough environment for any team going in there to Jerry's World, as they like to call it, playing in that stadium. We've done a great job in practice with crowd noise and all that stuff, because we're going in thinking the entire stadium is against us. That's the mentality you have to have, because you perform well with that. For us, we're road warriors. We're going to go in with that mentality and look to come out with a victory.
