Broncos, briefly: Monday, May 9, 2016

Posted May 9, 2016

A quick look at the recent buzz on the Broncos.

Philly Will shares his love of the game (Cameron Wolfe, Denver Post)
If you experience Will Parks' inspiring personality, toothy smile and love for his craft, it's hard to imagine that where the Broncos safety came from is an entirely different ballgame.

How fast Lynch can pick up the pro-style game will determine whether he can start early (Jeff Legwold, ESPN)
As soon as Lynch took his first throws as the only quarterback a the Denver Broncos' rookie minicamp this past weekend, the questions about when the first-round pick would be ready to play began.

When the Broncos sign the rookie class depends on how the salary cap is maneuvered (Jeff Legwold, ESPN)
To sign [the] rookie class before training camp will expend much of the Broncos’ current salary-cap space, but executive vice president of football operations John Elway said following the draft, “We know what we need to do and how we need to get there, and I’ve kind of got my eye on next year too."

Why Dallas missed on the opportunity to trade up for Lynch (Peter King, MMQB.com)
In other words, Jerry Jones was remorseful the next day that he didn’t press for including the third-round pick to do the deal with Seattle that would have made Lynch a Cowboy.

Peyton Manning heading to Miami to help out his former offensive coordinator (Jared Dubin, CBSSports.com)
Possibly as some sort of thank you (or maybe just because he's a nice guy), the now-retired Manning visited Gase at his new gig earlier this offseason and gave some instruction to Gase's new pupil, Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Per the Miami Herald, Manning took a trip down to Miami to work with Tannehill and instruct him in the ways of Gase's offense.

Mase gives you reasons why the Broncos are OK with the inside linebackers on the roster (Andrew Mason)
Because with the success the Broncos have enjoyed in finding and developing quality inside linebackers (Brandon Marshall and Danny Trevathan, for example), they didn't perceive the position as a need because of the young talent in reserve. Further, special-teams assistant Chris Gould coached Riley Dixon at Syracuse and knows his skills and potential better than almost anyone.

Pro Football Hall of Fame running back Floyd Little will receive a doctorate degree (Jim Saccomano)
Dr. Floyd Little's legacy is that he showed everyone a blueprint for how to live.
