The Broncos' schedule will soon be here.
The NFL schedule will be released in May, and the Broncos will learn when they'll play the 17 games on their 2024 slate.
But why wait? Ahead of the official announcement, I'm taking my annual guess at how the Broncos' schedule will shape up.
A year ago, I connected on three of the 17 games, as I successfully predicted when the Broncos would travel to Chicago and Las Vegas and when the team would host the Chargers.
Since starting the exercise in 2020, my high mark was predicting four games correctly in 2022.
Let's see if we can beat that mark.
As a reminder, the Broncos will host the Browns, Steelers, Falcons, Panthers, Colts, Chiefs, Chargers and Raiders. They'll visit the Ravens, Bengals, Buccaneers, Saints, Seahawks, Jets, Chiefs, Chargers and Raiders.
Week 1: Broncos vs. Steelers — "Monday Night Football"
Monday, Sept. 9
Two years ago, I thought a trip to Seattle was too obvious for Week 1, and I predicted a different matchup. Not going to make that mistake again.
Week 2: Broncos vs. Chiefs
Sunday, Sept. 15
The Broncos snapped the streak last season. They'll quickly have a chance to add another win against the defending champs.
Week 3: Broncos at Bengals
Sunday, Sept. 22
The last time the Broncos played in Cincinnati in September, Trevor Siemian threw for 300 yards and four touchdowns.
Week 4: Broncos at Jets
Sunday, Sept. 29
Another early season matchup between the Broncos and Jets. This time, each team has a different QB under center.
Week 5: Broncos vs. Browns
Sunday, Oct. 6
Should be a show between Alabama products Pat Surtain II and Jerry Jeudy.
Week 6: Broncos at Saints — "Thursday Night Football"
Thursday, Oct. 10
HC Sean Payton returns to New Orleans in prime time.
Week 7: Broncos vs. Chargers
Sunday, Oct. 20
Payton and the Broncos will see Jim Harbaugh's Chargers for the first time.
Week 8: Broncos at Seahawks
Sunday, Oct. 27
The Broncos will crisscross the country in the span of two weeks as they play back-to-back road games again.
Week 9: Broncos at Buccaneers
Sunday, Nov. 3
The afternoon thunderstorms won't be as bad in November as they were in early October of 2016, when the Broncos' game was delayed.
Week 10: Broncos vs. Falcons
Sunday, Nov. 10
Denver heads back home before the bye for another NFC South matchup.
Week 11: BYE
Sunday, Nov. 17
A tick late for the bye, but that may be better than too early.
Week 12: Broncos at Raiders
Sunday, Nov. 24
The Broncos will have to wait until Week 12 to try to get back in the win column against Las Vegas.
Week 13: Broncos vs. Colts
Sunday, Dec. 1
Denver's defense could see a young phenom in Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson.
Week 14: Broncos at Ravens
Sunday, Dec. 8
Perhaps the hardest two-game stretch of Denver's (fake) schedule (that I made up), as the Broncos will travel to Baltimore and Kansas City in consecutive weeks.
Week 15: Broncos at Chiefs — "Monday Night Football"
Monday, Dec. 16
Arrowhead in December is never easy, but this could be a big win for Denver.
Week 16: Broncos vs. Panthers
Sunday, Dec. 22
Will 2023 first-overall pick Bryce Young take a step forward in his second season?
Week 17: Broncos vs. Raiders
Sunday, Dec. 29
Beating the Raiders would be a sweet way to end 2024.
Week 18: Broncos at Chargers
Sunday, Jan. 5
A trip to SoFi caps Denver's 2024 slate. Could this game be an all-Oregon matchup at the QB position?
