Five Key Matchups: Broncos at Chiefs
Takea a look at five of the key matchups for Sunday's AFC West showdown.
In the first matchup between these two teams Peyton Manning threw for 323 yards and a touchdown without being sacked and without throwing an interception. Another game like that would go a long way towards a Broncos' victory in Kansas City.
Marcus Cooper, the Chiefs rookie cornerback, leads the team in passes defensed with 14 this season. In the first matchup, Demaryius Thomas led the way with 121 receiving yards on five catches. Cooper and the Chiefs will be looking to prevent a repeat performance.
Jamaal Charles, the Chiefs leading rusher and receiver, rushed for 78 yards against the Broncos in Week 11. Woodyard and the rest of the defense will be trying to limit his production in Kansas City.
Earlier this season, the Kansas City fans set the world record for loudest outdoor sports stadium topping 137 decibels and a pivotal divisional matchup like Sunday promises to provide plenty of reasons for the fans to get loud.
The field position game will once again be a family affair. In the first matchup, Britton punted six times and Dustin punted seven times but each just had one downed inside the 20-yard-line. They'll both want that percentage to be higher on Sunday.
