The Squeeze: Ronda Rousey's Peyton Manning connection

Good morning, #BroncosCountry –

We hope you're having a splendid week so far! Here are three things to get caught up on.

1. Manning vs. Rousey

Never thought we would be comparing UFC fighter Ronda Rousey to quarterback Peyton Manning, did you?

Well here we are.

The undefeated UFC champ's last four fights have lasted a grand total of 130 seconds. That's shorter than it takes for her to get into the ring. For perspective, ESPN Stats & Info's Steve Martinez took a look at recent accomplishments in sports to compare.

Among 13 of Usain Bolt's 100-meter races and 13 of Klay Thompson's points en route to the NBA-record of 37 points in a quarter, Manning also joins the list. In the time it has taken Rousey to defeat four opponents, our signal caller could throw 59 passes.

"The Denver Broncos' quarterback had the fastest average time before releasing passes last season at 2.2 seconds," writes ESPN (though their tweet was one off, smh).

2. Football family reunion

During day four of training camp, the Broncos welcomed the Colorado State football staff to the UCHealth Training Center. The visit was a reunion for our four CSU alums, but also for outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware, who was reunited with his former Troy co-defensive coordinator and current CSU defensive line coach, Ricky Logo.
