The Squeeze: Peyton Manning and Friday the 13th

Good afternoon, #BroncosCountry –

Happy Orange Friday! Just a couple days until the Broncos take on the Chiefs at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. In the meantime here are a couple storylines to get caught up on, starting with No. 18:

1. 'You have to learn from it and you have to move on'

Quarterback Peyton Manning spoke with Dave Logan as part of his weekly radio show appearance on KOA NewsRadio. Manning and Logan covered topics from the game against Indianapolis, to the Kansas City Chiefs defense.

"Execution was just better in the second half," Manning said of game against the Colts. "We were close on a couple things in that first half and didn't quite hit on a couple things and had some mistakes that kept us from keeping drives going. Just got to be able to get off to a better start. Especially on the road."

But undefeated records don't automatically mean Super Bowl Championships. The Broncos will take the loss as a learning moment.

"Everybody was disappointed, but you have to learn from it and you have to move on," Manning said. "That's part of it— Just like winning. It's no different. If you keep celebrating a win or feeling good about yourself, it's going to hurt you the next week. If you have that hangover for too long, it's going to hurt you the next week. Hopefully everyone has learned from it, try to use it to make us a better team and we can be better for it."

This weekend the offense will have its hands full with the Chiefs defense that's led by their stout front seven, including linebackers Justin Houston and Tamba Tali.

"They're playing well," Manning said. "They rush both those guys at the same time, playing a five-man front, playing a lot of cover one, man-to-man. They're counting on those guys to get home, their corners are excellent cover guys, so everything starts with those two guys outside. They really are difference makers."
