Good morning, #BroncosCountry,
Happy game day! We hope to see you at Sports Authority Field at Mile High tonight when the Broncos take on the Cardinals at 7 p.m. MDT. While you're waiting to put on your war paint, pass the time by catch up with these three highlights from yesterday.
1. Don't be like this Peyton…
Quarterback Peyton Manning has a pretty epic track record for churning out hilariously off-the-wall DirecTV ads with his brother, Giants' quarterback Eli Manning – and this year is no different.
Manning and a quartet of other NFL quarterbacks will be featured in a new ad campaign that will run in Sports Illustrated. A poster for subscribers of the magazine that equal up to 16 pages, the largest ad in the history of Sports Illustrated.
Newstand versions of the magazine will feature the quarterbacks upside down on the back of the magazine with an inside spread.
Following in DirecTV's 'Don't be like this….' trend, Denver's signal caller's persona will be 'High Voice' Manning and as seen in the tweet below, it looks like Manning joined a barbershop quartet.
2. Gruden has good things to say about the Broncos offense
Former NFL head coach and current ESPN analyst, Jon Gruden, had plenty of nice things to say about the Broncos offense during a media call yesterday.
Q. I know you won't have Peyton Manning until the end of the season. But what gives you confidence that he will rebound this season in this new offense of Gary Kubiak? And secondly, what have you seen from Brock (Osweiler) as far as preseason that gives you something to hold on to?
GRUDEN: I'm excited about Osweiler. I watched him against Seattle three days ago, and just the life in his legs, the size that he has. I forgot how big he was. He sees the field well. It's like he's making some changes at the line of scrimmage effortlessly. They have a running game and nice play action off of it. I love Gary Kubiak's film. If there were two offensive coaches that I'd grab their tape right away, Kubiak's one of them. It is a great play-action passing game, lot of diversity in formations and personnel groups.
"So I think Osweiler seeing Peyton Manning at close range, and I think he's closing in on preparing himself to be a front line starter in the league. I really don't have much concern about Peyton other than Peyton being the evaluator of himself. If Peyton's thinking he can do it, he's going to keep doing it. And I would not doubt "The Sherriff."
3. In case you missed it…
Jon Gruden has 'a feeling' Raiders are moving to Los Angeles.
