The Squeeze: 'Championship Saturday' and tarmac style

Happy gameday, #BroncosCountry –

It's about that time! The Broncos are getting ready to take on the Chargers today, but in the meantime, here are a couple stories to get caught up on, starting with a little college football:

1. 'Championship Saturday'
The NCAA football scene has been set following "Championship Saturday," the final week of the regular season where conference champions are decided and College Football Playoff pairings begin to take form.

There was a lot riding for some of the Broncos who were able to watch games on the way to San Diego and after their meetings.

But Executive Vice President of Football Operations/General Manager John Elway was in Santa Clara, California, to serve as an honorary captain and speak to his alma mater, the Stanford Cardinal before they took on USC in the Pac-12 Championship.

Earlier this week Elway was named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Century in addition to being named to the All-Century team.

Stanford was victorious against USC, earning the title with a 41-22 win.

Michigan State grad Bennie Fowler was excited for his Michigan State Spartans to claim the Big 10 title with a 16-13 win over Iowa.

2. Broncos take off for San Diego in style
Per usual, the Broncos turned the DIA tarmac into a runway on Saturday morning.

Cue the music

"I got a really big team…"
