Happy Victory Monday, #BroncosCountry –
We're sure you're still smiling — and so are we! Keep that postgame elation going with these three things, starting with some celebrations:
1. Broncos celebrate AFC Championship berth
With their win over the Steelers, the Broncos have punched a ticket to the AFC Championship Game and will host the Patriots this coming Sunday.
With a win over New England, the Broncos earn the AFC title and a trip to Super Bowl 50 — and the Broncos are pretty excited about the opportunity:
2. Broncos earn a pair of awards from The MMQB
Kicker Brandon McManus and outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware both earned accolades from The MMQB after their performances.
McManus earned special teams player of the week after becoming the 10th player in NFL history to knock through five field goals in a postseason game. His performance also earned him the team's game ball postgame from Head Coach Gary Kubiak.
On a day when 25 of the 39 points scored came from kickers, McManus did as much as anyone on the Broncos to boost them to the AFC Championship Game.
Ware helped set up the Broncos' go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter when he recovered a fumble forced by cornerback Bradley Roby to flip the momentum. He then got after Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger on a fourth-and-five on the Steelers' next drive.
That's a couple of big plays from a player brought to Denver by John Elway for exactly these occasions.
