Injury Report: Teddy Bridgewater among Broncos to miss practice, Drew Lock expected to start vs. Chargers

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was among the five Broncos who did not practice on Wednesday as the team began its preparations for a Week 17 game against the Chargers.

Bridgewater, who suffered a concussion against the Bengals in Week 15, missed last week's game and will likely miss this Sunday's game, as well.

Head Coach Vic Fangio said Wednesday "it's looking like" Drew Lock will start for the second consecutive week.

"I'd just like to see our offense improve, which Drew is a major part of," Fangio said of his hopes for Lock in his second start. "We have to throw it better and more efficiently and complete more balls. Our first- and second-down operation has to be better, both in the run and pass. We need to get some balance back into our offense, both equally effective whether running or throwing."

Inside linebacker Kenny Young (concussion), cornerback Ronald Darby (shoulder), safety Kareem Jackson (back/shoulder) and outside linebacker Stephen Weatherly (illness) also did not practice on Wednesday.

Outside linebacker Bradley Chubb (shoulder/ankle), running back Melvin Gordon III (thumb/hip), defensive ends Shelby Harris (ankle) and Dre'Mont Jones (foot), quarterback Drew Lock (ankle), defensive lineman Shamar Stephen (knee) and running back Javonte Williams (knee) were all limited participants.
