Injury Report: Alexander Johnson, Von Miller 'truly 50-50' for Sunday's game

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Outside linebacker Von Miller and inside linebacker Alexander Johnson are "truly 50-50" for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Head Coach Vic Fangio announced Friday.

Miller and Johnson are among the six Broncos listed as questionable for the team's contest against Los Angeles. Both players practiced on a limited basis Friday after missing practice on Wednesday and Thursday.

"OK," said Fangio when asked how Miller looked. "He's gotten better every day. He didn't practice the first two days, but he's doing some stuff. Today he made progress. It's truly 50-50 whether he'll be able to go or not."

Miller last missed a regular-season game in 2013.

Fangio said Johnson also improved as the week progressed but faces similar odds to play Sunday.

Linebacker Josey Jewell (ankle), defensive end Shelby Harris (ankle), cornerback Duke Dawson Jr. (concussion) and tackle Ja'Wuan James (knee) are also listed as questionable. Jewell, Harris and Dawson were limited in Friday's practice.

James was a full participant in practice all week, but his availability for Sunday remains uncertain.

"He'll either play — meaning start and play — or he won't dress," Fangio said.

James last played in Week 8 against the Colts and has appeared in just two games this season.

"He's cleared to play, but we have to get him ready to play," Fangio said Monday. "He's got to get mentally ready to play, emotionally ready to play and be able to go out there and play good, not just go out there. That's part of that equation."

Linebacker Justin Hollins (hamstring), guard Ron Leary (shoulder/neck), center Connor McGovern (back) and wide receiver Tim Patrick (shoulder) were limited in practice at times this week, but all four players were full participants in Friday's practice and will be available for Sunday.
