Broncos Injury Update: Sambrailo, Latimer still sidelined

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. --WR Cody Latimer and OL Ty Sambrailo were sidelined as the Broncos practiced Thursday in advance of a weekend trip to Oakland.

Latimer missed a second consecutive practice because of a groin injury suffered in the first half of Sunday's game against the Vikings.

Sambrailo continued his sideline work with one of the team's strength and conditioning coaches as he works his way back up to speed following a shoulder injury suffered against the Lions on Sept. 27.

"I would hope that we get some reps out of him [Friday]," Head Coach Gary Kubiak said. "We'll see, but I would say that today was better than [Wednesday].

"We're heading in the right direction. He did not take any practice reps, but he's with the walk-throughs and with the team. He's as close as he can be to being back out there."

QB Peyton Manning and starting guards Evan Mathis and Louis Vasquez returned to practice after receiving a day off Wednesday. TE Owen Daniels was given a rest day Thursday, just like last week. "We are just trying to monitor him the right way," Kubiak said of Daniels. "He's a 10th-year guy and is obviously playing a lot of snaps for us. We're counting on him."

OT Ryan Harris was limited in practice because of a knee problem. Kubiak said Harris worked at the beginning and end of practice, but sat out during the periods in which the Broncos worked in pads.

"We're just trying to get some of these veteran guys a break," Kubiak said.

The receiving corps leads off Thursday's practice gallery, along with shots of the tight ends, linemen and edge rushers.
