Broncos injury update: Evan Mathis watches practice; Ty Sambrailo still out

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. --A day after seeing limited work because of a hamstring injury, left guard Evan Mathis did not take part in practice as the Broncos continued their work in advance of Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Mathis was pulled out of Wednesday's practice because of a hamstring problem, and was given Thursday off for further rest.

"I expect him to be back full go [Friday]," Head Coach Gary Kubiak said.

Left tackle Ty Sambrailo also missed a second consecutive day because of a shoulder injury he suffered Sunday.

Right guard Louis Vasquez and quarterback Peyton Manning were back at work after getting a veterans' day off Wednesday.

Tight ends Owen Daniels and James Casey did not practice. Daniels was given a veteran rest day and watched from the sideline. Casey took part in the warm-up and special-teams periods before leaving after he experienced some knee swelling, Kubiak said.

Inside linebacker Todd Davis was on the field, but did not practice because of an ankle injury.

All other Broncos practiced Thursday, including newly acquired offensive tackle Tyler Polumbus, who donned jersey No. 76. Defensive lineman Vance Walker saw limited work because of an elbow injury.
