Broncos Injury Update: Evan Mathis returns; Ty Sambrailo ruled out for Sunday

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. --Left guard Evan Mathis returned to practice and is probable for Sunday, but left tackle Ty Sambrailo was ruled out for the Vikings game after missing a third consecutive day of practice.

"He just hasn't made the progress we thought we were going [to see him] make," Head Coach Gary Kubiak said after practice. "We expected to get him out here today, and we worked him out a little bit this morning, and just made a decision that we're going to get him healthy.

"So we're going to start him back over Monday and go from there."

With Sambrailo out, Ryan Harris will move to left tackle, and 2014 third-round pick Michael Schofield will make his first career start

Mathis missed all of Thursday's practice because of a hamstring issue that set in during Wednesday's work, and the Broncos opted to rest him Thursday in the hopes he would return Friday.

"Today's the only day we had the [offensive line] group together," Kubiak said.

Other player notes:

... ILB Todd Davis was on the field and in a helmet after being held out of Thursday's practice because of an ankle injury. He is listed as questionable for Sunday.

... All other Broncos on the injury report are probable for Sunday: DE Kenny Anunike (knee), safety Omar Bolden (foot), QB Peyton Manning (listed because he had a day off Wednesday), RG Louis Vasquez (knee), RB Juwan Thompson (neck), CB Kayvon Webster (ankle) and DE Vance Walker (elbow).
