ENGLEWOOD, Colo. --Nose tackle Domata Peko Sr. was on the field at the start of the Broncos' walk-through practice Monday as they began getting ready for Thursday night's game against the Indianapolis Colts.
Peko saw limited repetitions during the session. He also had limited work last Friday, which was his first practice work since he injured his knee Nov. 26 against the Raiders.
Safety Justin Simmons did not practice. He is "day to day" with a mild high ankle sprain, Head Coach Vance Joseph said Monday afternoon.
"We're treating him and seeing what's going to happen on Thursday there," Joseph said.
Simmons suffered the injury while celebrating Brandon Marshall's strip-sack fumble on the first defensive series Sunday.
"He turned his ankle on Brandon's right foot. Simple as that," Joseph said. "I mean, what do you say to Justin? Don't celebrate? Don't have fun? It's just flukey."
Safety Jamal Carter (shoulder) and quarterback Paxton Lynch (ankle) also did not practice. Carter was injured Sunday, but "should be OK," Joseph said. Lynch has not practiced since being injured against the Raiders.
