Broncos Injury Report: All signs point to Domata Peko Sr. playing

There are few matchups as entertaining as the one between Chris Harris Jr. and T.Y. Hilton. That battle, plus these other matchups, could decide Thursday night's game against Indianapolis.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. --Safety Justin Simmons and quarterback Paxton Lynch were held out of practice with high-ankle injuries as the Broncos continued getting ready for Thursday night's game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Safety Jamal Carter, who did not practice Monday night because of a shoulder injury, saw limited work Tuesday. Nose tackle Domata Peko Sr. also saw limited work. It was Peko's third consecutive practice with limited repetitions as he continues to recover from a knee injury he suffered against Oakland on Nov. 26.

"[Peko] has progressed fine," Head Coach Vance Joseph said. "It was kind of a half-speed practice, but he's feeling better, so he should be able to go on Thursday night."

If Simmons cannot play, Will Parks would likely start.

The Broncos practiced Tuesday afternoon in helmets, with the players on the 53-man roster wearing throwback logos and stripes that were applied to the helmets Monday by the team's equipment staff as part of the Color Rush uniforms that the team will wear at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The session was the team's first since placing right guard Ron Leary on injured reserve because of a back injury. Leary will not need surgery.

"He wasn't getting better fast enough," Joseph said.

Connor McGovern will continue to start in place of Leary.
