ENGLEWOOD, Colo. --The Broncos moved quickly to replace Brian Callahan, agreeing to terms with former Kansas assistant coach Klint Kubiak as offensive assistant/quarterbacks.

Kubiak spent the 2015 season as KU's wide receivers coach after working two seasons on the Minnesota Vikings' staff as a quality-control/assistant wide receivers coach. In Minnesota, he served on the staffs of two head coaches: Leslie Frazier (2013) and Mike Zimmer (2014).

He also spent two seasons on the Texas A&M staff (2011-12), working in various capacities on the offensive side of the ball under head coach Kevin Sumlin.

Kubiak is a familiar face to local football fans, playing four seasons at Colorado State, where he was a team captain. He played in the East-West Shrine Game following his senior season and took part in rookie camp with the Washington Redskins as a safety in 2010.

Callahan, who spent the last six seasons with the Broncos, joined the Lions as their quarterbacks coach this week. Callahan served under four head coaches in Denver, and will be reunited with former Broncos assistant Jim Bob Cooter, who is Detroit's offensive coordinator.
