The Broncos rarely need extra motivation, but what they did need this season was to show improvement against the run, their defensive Achilles' heel a year ago. And with their coaching overhaul and offseason moves, no alteration was more noticeable than their run defense.

While there is plenty of season still to play, and potential potholes in the road, the Broncos have flashed some scoring punch in their first two games. Quarterback Trevor Siemian is tied for the league lead with Matthew Stafford with six touchdown passes, and running back C.J. Anderson is second in the league in rushing.

Siemian deserves more attention, but truth be told, he doesn't mind not getting it. When the quarterback is asked about his performance, he prefers to talk about someone else's.
