Just under one month after releasing Aaron Brewer, the Broncos filled their long-snapper void by signing Casey Kreiter, who played six games for the Dallas Cowboys in the 2014 and 2015 preseasons.

Kreiter signed a one-year deal.

A 25-year-old product of the University of Iowa, where he played with Broncos backup center James Ferentz, Kreiter was a first-team All-Big Ten choice in 2013 and a multi-year Academic All-Big Ten selection. Kreiter handled the Hawkeyes' first-team long-snapping chores in the 2011, 2012 and 2013 seasons.

A team leader and captain at Iowa, he didn't misfire on a field-goal or extra-point snap in college, according to the Iowa blog Black Heart Gold Pants.
