Dr. China Jude was named Vice President of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion on April 26, 2021. In a newly created role for the organization, Jude works closely with football, business and community leadership on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategy.
Jude guides the team's internal DEI committee, increasing viewership and participation in organization-wide programming, and has strengthened DEI presence in the corporate partnership area. She also has successfully introduced, researched, and vetted the launch of an anonymous reporting platform and newly created recruitment strategies to increase ethnic minorities in the application pipeline.
Jude came to the Broncos with more than 23 years of collegiate athletic administration and coaching experience, including 10 years as Athletics Director. She worked as the University of Wyoming's Senior Associate Athletics Director for Administration/Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) for three seasons, overseeing staff and operations of sports medicine, sports performance and nutrition, strategic planning, gender equity and diversity, inclusion initiatives, and the volleyball and soccer teams.
At Wyoming, Jude created strategies for addressing sexual assault/violence and coordinated the celebration of women who competed before Title IX. She also strengthened Wyoming's diversity and inclusion recruitment and professional development programming, leading to an eight percent increase in ethnic minority and female staffers in under-represented areas. Jude served on national committees, including National Board President of the Minority Opportunities Athletics Association (MOAA), Chair of the NCAA Minority Opportunities Interest Committee (MOIC), and Founder of the Women of Color (WoC) Athletics Director Network.
In February 2022, Jude was named as one of the 50 Most Influential Black People in Sports (#30) by USA Today and one of the 100 Most Influential Blacks Today by CORE Magazine. She also was named to the 10th annual Sports Business Journal Game Changers: Women in Sports Business Class of 2020 and received the 2019 Women Leaders in College Sports Nell Jackson Administrator of the Year Award.
Jude received her undergraduate degree in Broadcast Journalism from Alabama State University and a Master's in Sports Science from United States Sports Academy. She earned her EdD in Athletics Administration from Northcentral University. Currently, she is pursuing her paralegal certificate at Boston University.
Jude received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Naval Reserves in 1994.
