Richard Guarascio enters his first season as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Denver Broncos in 2022. He was hired by the club on March 22.
Guarascio (pronounced: guh-RAH-see-OH) joins the Broncos with five years of full-time coaching experience. He has spent time with six collegiate institutions in addition to working for the Chicago Bears in 2019.
Before joining the Broncos, Guarascio worked as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for Washington State University from 2017-21. He worked exclusively with the Cougars' football program, overseeing the training routine of the offensive line and tight ends while leading the programming for all new student athletes.
Preceding his time at Washington State, Guarascio served as a seasonal assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Bears during the team's 2019 organized team activities. He orchestrated the daily set up of the weight room while assisting with the orientation and training of Chicago's rookie class.
Prior to the Bears, Guarascio had stints with five different universities. He worked at the University of Colorado (2017), University of South Carolina (2016), University of Sioux Falls (2016), Louisiana State University (2015) and Northern State University (2013-14).
A four-year Division II football player at the University of Sioux Falls (2013-16), Guarascio helped the Cougars amass a 47-12 record during his tenure while being named a Northern Sun academic all-conference selection in three consecutive years (2014-16). He contributed to Sioux Falls' first ever playoff berth and victory as a Division II school, and helped the University capture its first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference title.
Guarascio is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach for USA Weightlifting, and is CPR/first aid certified. A native of Naples, Fla., Guarascio was born on Nov. 25, 1994.
