Ramon Chinyoung Sr. enters his first season as an offensive quality control coach for the Denver Broncos in 2022. He was hired by the club on Feb. 14.
Chinyoung joins the Broncos with 10 years of full-time coaching experience, most recently serving as head coach/campus coordinator at Fort Bend Willowridge High School (Houston) from 2020-21. In two seasons at the helm, Chinyoung led the Eagles to a combined 11-8 record and an appearance in the 2020 Texas High School Football Playoffs.
Prior to Willowridge, Chinyoung spent eight seasons (2012-19) at Westfield High School (Houston) from 2012-19. He served as assistant offensive line coach for four seasons (2012-15) before being promoted to assistant head coach while also overseeing the offensive line (2016-19).
During his eight seasons at Westfield, the Mustangs tallied nine consecutive double-digit win seasons and recorded a 96-15 overall record. Westfield posted a 58-1 mark in conference play and had nine straight first-place finishes in the district.
As assistant head coach, Chinyoung helped lead the team to 47 wins and an undefeated record in league play in each of his final four seasons. In that span, Westfield recorded five consecutive playoff appearances, posting a 12-4 record in the postseason.
Chinyoung attended Southern University and A&M College (Baton Rouge, La.), where he was a four-year letterwinner from 2007-10. He was named first team All-SWAC on two occasions while being honored as a first team All-Louisiana player in 2009.
Chinyoung earned a bachelor's degree from Southern University in therapeutic recreation and leisure studies. He is married to his wife and college sweetheart, Morgan Broussard-Chinyoung, and the couple has two sons, Ramon Chinyoung II (RJ) and Myles Henry Chinyoung.
