The Squeeze: Top NFL position groups, Von Miller and chickens

Good morning, #BroncosCountry –

Happy Saturday! There may not be a game tomorrow, but here are three storylines to get caught up with, starting with our defense:

1. Broncos hold two of the best position groups in the NFL

ESPN's Field Yates ranked the best position groups in the league, and the Broncos earned two titles — at linebacker and cornerback. The only other team with two best position groups is the Arizona Cardinals.

Here's Yates on Denver's linebackers:

The most dominant position group in the NFL thus far is the linebacking squad in Denver. Von Miller is unblockable off the edge playing opposite DeMarcus Ware, who remains a physical freak at age 33. Depth comes in the form of first-round rookie Shane Ray (two sacks) and surprise undrafted free agent Shaq Barrett, who is already up to 3.5 sacks this season. Brandon Marshall and Danny Trevathan man the middle. There is no weak link in this bunch.

And Yates on the cornerbacks:

The Denver defense is no joke. It's the best in the NFL and excellent at all three levels. Let's focus on the top two cornerbacks in the Mile High City: Aqib Talib and Chris Harris Jr. They're reactive, instinctive and very good at the catch point. They've combined for five interceptions and have three touchdown returns. Former first-round pick Bradley Roby is a fluid playmaker who returned a fumble for a touchdown in Week 2 to stun the Chiefs in a late-game swing.

2. Von digs chicks

Von Miller spent his bye week in California, but before going to see the 49ers-Seahawks game on Thursday night, he made one pit stop: At a chicken farm.

If you didn't know, Miller has his own chicken farm and is an aspiring full-time chicken farmer, so this isn't all that random.

Or is it?

Green eggs and ham anyone? 😎🐓
