• A strongside linebacker who posted 27.5 sacks in 26 starts over his last two seasons at Texas A&M University and won the Butkus Award (nation’s best linebacker) in addition to being named a consensus All-American as a senior in 2010.

Quickly: Miller is a strongside linebacker who ranked tied for ninth in the NFL with 11.5 sacks (77 yds.) on the season. Miller led the team in sacks, sack yards, tackles for a loss (19) and quarterback hits (24). He tied Rulon Jones (1980) for the most sacks by a rookie in franchise history. At Miami he recorded his fifth consecutive game with a sack to mark the longest such streak by a Denver rookie since LB Mike Croel had a sack in six consecutive contests in 1991. He was named Rookie of the Month for November. The Broncos selected Miller in the first round (2nd overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft.

  • vs. Pittsburgh (1/8):Had a sack on a first down during Pittsburgh’s final offensive drive in the fourth quarter which helped keep the Steelers from scoring and send the game into overtime.

  • vs. Oakland (9/12): Started his first regular season NFL game and had five tackles (three solo) and forced a fumble.
  • vs. Cincinnati (9/18): Recorded his first NFL sack for a loss of 13 yards... Logged a tackle for loss and a QB hit.
  • at Tennessee (9/25): His strip sack in the third quarter tied him for the team lead in sacks and represented his second forced fumble of the season... With two forced fumbles, he tied the league high including Tennessee DE Karl Klug to lead all rookies.
  • at Green Bay (10/2): Recorded the ninth multi-sack game by a rookie in Broncos history with two takedowns, the first since DE Tim Crowder had two in 2007... Had two tackle for losses and three QB hits... His four sacks are tied for seventh in the league but lead all rookies.
  • vs. San Diego (10/9): Recorded a sack for the fourth consecutive game, making him the first Broncos rookie since 1991 to accomplish that feat (LB Mike Croel, six consecutive games).
  • at Miami (10/23): He finished with a sack, two tackles for loss and three QB hits... His sixth straight game recording a sack.
  • vs. Detroit (10/30): He finished with two tackles for a loss and two QB hits.
  • at Oakland (11/6): In addition for combining on a sack with DE Elvis Dumervil, he had a tackle for loss and three QB hits... One of his QB hits forced Oakland QB Carson Palmer to throw an interception to CB Champ Bailey.
  • at Kansas City (11/13): Had two tackles for a loss and four QB hits.
  • vs. N.Y. Jets (11/17): Led the Broncos with a career-high 10 tackles (9 solo), including 1.5 sacks (12 yds.) and three tackles for a loss, in addition to four quarterback hits, one forced fumble and one pass defensed (preventing a possible touchdown reception) in Denver’s 17-13 win over the Jets... Became just the second player this season (LB Michael Boley, NYG) to record 10+ tackles, a sack, a forced fumble and a pass defensed in a single game (according to press box totals)... Was named Peter King’s Defensive Player of the Week.
  • at San Diego (11/27): Matched his career high with 10 tackles, including one sack and two tackles for a loss, in addition to a pass defensed... Dropped San Diego RB Ryan Mathews for a 4-yard loss in overtime, forcing the Chargers to settle for a 53-yard field goal that they would fail to convert and giving Denver the ball at their own 43-yard line for the game-winning drive... His sack came in the fourth quarter and forced a third-and-long for the Chargers that they would fail to convert; San Diego was forced to punt the ball away and Denver sent the game into overtime with a field goal on the ensuing drive... His sack marked his fourth consecutive game with at least a half sack, making him one of just three players (St. Louis DE Chris Long and Denver DE Elvis Dumervil) to record at least a half sack in all four games played during the month of November.
  • vs. Chicago (12/11): Had five tackles, including one sack, two tackles for a loss and two quarterback hurries.
  • vs. New England (12/18): Finished with a tackle for loss.

2010: Miller started all 13 games as a senior defensive captain at Texas A&M and became the Aggies’ first recipient of the Butkus Award (nation’s best linebacker) after leading the Big 12 Conference in sacks (10.5) for the second
consecutive year and posting a career-high 68 tackles (38 solo) with one interception (3 yds.), seven passes defensed, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries... Selected as a consensus All-American and firstteam All-Big 12 performer in addition to being named a Ted Hendricks Award finalist (nation’s top defensive end).

2009: Miller received first-team All-America honors and was a unanimous first-team All-Big 12 selection after leading the nation with 17 sacks (115 yds.) and starting all 13 games for the Aggies... Played a hybrid “jack” position
and totaled 48 tackles (31 solo) with five passes defensed and four forced fumbles... Named a finalist for the Hendricks Award and a semifinalist for the Butkus Award with a staggering 21.5 of his 48 tackles (44.8%) on the season occurring behind the opponent line of scrimmage.

2008: Miller appeared in 12 games (4 starts) and led Texas A&M with 3.5 sacks (18 yds.) to go along with 44 tackles (25 solo), two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries... Added four tackles on kickoff coverage as a significant special-teams contributor.

2007: Miller played 9 games (0 starts) as a true freshman and was named to the Freshman All-Big 12 Team by The Sporting News after recording 22 tackles (10 solo) with two sacks (10 yds.) and one forced fumble.

HIGH SCHOOL: Miller attended DeSoto High School in DeSoto, Texas, where he was named the District 8-5A Defensive MVP as a senior after totaling 76 tackles and six sacks... Rated the No. 6 middle linebacker in the nation by Scout.com and was named to Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Super Team (second-team defensive line).
