2012: Smith started all 10 games played as a senior for Western Kentucky University and was named Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Year after totaling 38 tackles (28 solo), 12.5 sacks (84 yds.), one forced fumble and three fumble recoveries...Led the nation with 1.25 sacks per game as nearly half of his 38 total tackles (18.5) came behind the line of scrimmage...Recovered a fumble and returned it 75 yards for a touchdown vs. Florida Atlantic (11/10).

2011: Smith saw action in all 12 games (6 starts) and led the Hilltoppers with 7.5 sacks (57 tds.) to earn second-team All-Sun Belt Conference honors...Posted two sacks and four tackles for a loss in the Hilltoppers' 31-28 win at Louisiana-Monroe (10/29).

2010: Smith opened 10-of-11 games played and totaled a career-best 47 tackles (29 solo) to go along with a team-high four sacks (21 yds.), one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries in his first season at defensive end...Named to the Sun Belt Conference third team by Phil Steele...Posted a season-high seven tackles vs. Middle Tennessee State (11/20).

2009: Smith played in all 12 games (2 starts) at weakside linebacker as a redshirt freshman and contributed 12 tackles (7 solo) on the season...Made his college debut and recorded a tackle at Tennessee (9/5)...Started his first game vs. Troy (11/7) and made one solo tackle.

2008: Smith redshirted as a true freshman at Western Kentucky.

HIGH SCHOOL: Smith attended Grayson High School in Loganville, Ga., where he lettered twice in football and capped his prep career by earning first-team all-county honors and second-team All-Class AAAAA recognition...Also lettered twice in basketball.
