Broncos host firefighters for 'Only the Brave' advance screening

The Broncos kicked off their bye week by hosting an advance screening of "Only the Brave" for local firefighters.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos kicked off the bye week by hosting more than 20 Denver-area firefighters at UCHealth Training Center for an advance screening of “Only The Brave,” the true story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots and the wildfire in Yarnell, Arizona.

Prior to the screening, the firefighters received a tour of UCHealth Training Center, where they were able to see the team’s Lombardi Trophies and locker room. While spending time in the locker room, Denver Broncos players were able to thank the first responders for their service and take photos before departing the facility.

“I’m just very grateful for them and all the hard work and dedication that they put into protecting us,” rookie Garett Bolles said after spending time interacting with the group of firefighters.

The advanced screening of “Only The Brave” was held in the team meeting room with pizza, wings and dessert, courtesy of Papa John’s Pizza. An added bonus for the local-area firefighters was watching the movie alongside Broncos players Hunter Sharp, Billy Winn and Bolles.

“I wanted to watch the movie with those guys because I know that those firefighters risk their lives for us every single day,” Bolles said.
