Broncos, Briefly: Thursday, April 26, 2018

A quick look at the recent buzz on the Denver Broncos.

How Shannon Sharpe Found His Voice (Alex Wong, GQ)
The Fox Sports host has become one of the most outspoken and vital voices in sports television. Here, a candid conversation on everything from social issues to the NFL to his relationship with Skip Bayless.

Mock draft 1.0: Bills trade up for Josh Allen (Mike Mayock, NFL.com)
Pick No. 5: Quenton Nelson, Notre Dame, G
It's an intriguing thought process. They're three years removed from a Super Bowl. If they draft a quarterback or trade down I think they're admitting they aren't that close. They're a lot better football team than people think. And Nelson is the best player remaining on the board at No. 5.

Broncos' best-case draft class probably needs RB, CB (Jeff Legwold, ESPN)
In the end, signing Case Keenum takes the pressure off the Broncos to have to use their opening pick on a quarterback. And while they probably would give long consideration to either Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield or USC’s Sam Darnold if an opportunity at either presented itself, their overall class probably will need a running back, wide receiver, an offensive lineman – or two – and a cornerback in it.

From Sam Darnold to Quenton Nelson, six ways Broncos can’t go wrong with No. 5 pick in NFL draft (Mark Kiszla, The Denver Post)
The Broncos are sitting pretty at No. 5 in the first round. Trade back? Don’t even think about it.

Boomer Sooner, Denver Broncos. Bring Baker Mayfield to Colorado (Paul Klee, The Gazette)
My choice is Baker Mayfield. Since the Broncos have engaged in pre-NFL draft meetings with the Big Baker Brand four times, they’re either A) BFF (Broncos Friends Forever) or B) buying the Baker buzz, too.
