Woodyard's World: Week 6

Posted Oct 11, 2013

Linebacker Wesley Woodyard blogs about missing practice this week and his plan for getting back on the field as soon as he can.

It’s been real tough not being out there at practice this week. If I don't suit up for Sunday’s game, I can’t do what I love to do and that’s playing football.

If I can’t play, I'll be out there just like I was playing – not suited up, but excited about being out there.

But I’m excited to get a chance to help coach my teammates up and help them to do the right thing out there on the field. I am excited about that.

It’s a ‘next man up’ mentality like Coach Fox has preached. I’m excited to see the guys step up and make plays. I know that if I can’t play Paris Lenon will be ready.

Paris has been a good player in this league for a while. He knows the plays before they even happen. He brings that physicality to the game of football. As a Mike linebacker, he’s going to come down and make plays. He’s a guy that has been waiting to get out on the field.

I’ve been preparing like I would play all week just to make sure I know what’s going on out there so come Sunday I’ll be able to help out.

I absolutely plan on being back at full strength as soon as possible.
