Knighton Gets Support from Former Bronco

Former Bronco -- and current Redskin -- Chris Baker was in the stands Sunday cheering on his best friend.

DENVER -- Plenty of former Broncos were in the stands to watch Sunday's Divisional Round win.

Alumni Jake Plummer and Rod Smith were both shown on the ThunderVision screen soaking in the Broncos victory.

But one familiar face that flew a little more under-the-radar was sitting in the front row watching his best friend help Denver earn a spot in the AFC Championship Game.

Current Washington Redskins defensive lineman Chris Baker, who was with Denver for the 2009 season, was decked out in Broncos gear, holding a sign that read "Let's Go #94 T-Knight!"

"That's my best friend," Knighton explained after the game. "We grew up together our whole lives. He just said he wanted to come and see a game and support me."

Knighton got Baker the prime seat next to his mom.

So was it strange to have a player from another team rooting on the Broncos?

"We're family. I don't see it as a guy from another team in the stands watching. I just see that family's watching," Knighton said. "He's up there with my mom. She's known him since he was born. I'm just looking forward to seeing him."

Defensive end Robert Ayers sought out Baker after the game, running up to high five him following the Broncos' 24-17 win.

"When Chris was here, me and him were real close," Ayers said. "We hung out a lot. We came in the same year, so it's always fun seeing him. Whenever I see him, we've always got jokes for each other."

"When I saw him, I went over there and dapped him up. He's a great guy."

Add the contingent of former Broncos attendance Sunday adding to the list of familiar faces at Broncos games this season -- which has included Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn.

No telling who will be in the stands next week.
