Ihenacho, Mohamed to Active Roster

Posted Sep 29, 2012

The Broncos signed safety Duke Ihenacho and linebacker Mike Mohamed to the active roster and placed safety Quinton Carter on injured reserve.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- The Broncos have signed safety Duke Ihenacho and linebacker Mike Mohamed to the team’s active roster and placed safety Quinton Carter on injured reserve, the team announced on Saturday.

Mohamed, who was signed to the team’s practice squad earlier this week, was originally drafted by the club in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He appeared in the Broncos’ first two games last season, then spent nine weeks on the practice squad before being signed back to the active roster for the final five weeks of the season.

Ihenacho signed with Denver as a college free agent following the 2012 NFL Draft. He played all four preseason games for the Broncos this year, registering six defensive tackles and one special-teams stop.

Carter did not practice all week with a knee injury and was listed as out for this week's matchup. He played in Denver’s first three games this year, tying for second with a pair of special-teams tackles after starting 10-of-16 contests as a rookie in 2011.

With Joe Mays serving a one-game suspension, the team's active roster stands at 53 entering Sunday's game vs. Oakland.
