Four Draft Picks Signed

Posted Jul 28, 2011

Virgil Green, Julius Thomas, Jeremy Beal and Mike Mohamed signed with the club Wednesday night.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- The Broncos signed four of the club's nine 2011 NFL Draft picks Wednesday night.

Fourth-round selection Julius Thomas, sixth-rounder Mike Mohamed and both seventh-round picks, Virgil Green and Jeremy Beal, inked deals with the team.

All four players will step foot on the practice field for the first time Thursday morning, when training camp officially opens.

Thomas, a tight end from Portland State, will wear No. 80 when he hits the field. In his one season of organized college football, Thomas earned first-team All-Big Sky Conference honors, catching 29 passes for 453 yards and two touchdowns

Mohamed, a linebacker from Cal, will sport No. 53. Mohamed played in 50 of 51 possible games for the Bears, earning first-team All-Pac 10 honors in his first season as a full-time starter in 2009.

Green, the second tight end drafted by the Broncos, will wear No. 89. The 2010 All-WAC player caught 72 passes in his career with Nevada, accumulating 939 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Beal was the last player picked by the Broncos and the last player to sign Wednesday night. The 2010 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year will wear No. 97.

That leaves Von Miller, Rahim Moore, Orlando Franklin, Nate Irving and Quinton Carter -- the club's first five picks, respectively -- as the rookies yet to sign.
