Familiar Faces Back in Orange and Blue

Posted Jul 29, 2011

Ryan McBean signed his exclusive rights tender and Wesley Woodyard and Matt Prater signed their RFA tenders to officially rejoin the Broncos.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- After three players were removed from the roster earlier Friday afternoon, the Broncos added three familiar faces back into the fold.

Linebacker Wesley Woodyard and kicker Matt Prater both signed their restricted free agent tenders, and defensive lineman Ryan McBean signed his exclusive rights tender, meaning all three players are officially back on the Broncos roster.

Woodyard, a team captain in 2010, made 37 tackles and notched one sack last season. McBean, who started four games on the defensive line, forced a fumble and made 17 tackles. Prater, whose season was cut short by injury, made 16 of his 18 field goal attempts in 2010, including a 59-yarder.

As per league rules, any player who signs a new contract cannot practice until the start of the league year, which is scheduled for Aug. 4 -- next Thursday. So the three players won't be back on the Dove Valley practice fields until then. But they're back in orange and blue.
