Broncos to host Hopeline Drive

Verizon Wireless and the Denver Broncos are inviting fans to help support survivors of domestic violence in the community with a phone recycling program.

DENVER — Verizon Wireless and the Denver Broncos have teamed up to invite fans to help support survivors of domestic violence in the community with a phone recycling program on Thursday at Sports Authority Field at Mile High (6:25 p.m. MT).

Fans attending the game may donate used wireless phones and accessories to Verizon Wireless HopeLine® drop boxes located inside Gate 8 (Southeast side of stadium).

HopeLine® from Verizon collects wireless phones and accessories that are no longer being used and turns them into support for domestic violence organizations nationwide. Phones that can be refurbished are sold for reuse, and those without value are disposed of in an environmentally sound way. Proceeds from the program are used to provide wireless phones and support to local shelters and non-profit organizations that focus on domestic violence prevention and awareness.

“Domestic violence is a hidden epidemic in the United States, and it can have a devastating impact on individuals, families and communities alike,” said Chris Lewter, regional president for Verizon Wireless. “At Verizon, we are committed to ending domestic violence and using technologies to support survivors.

“We are proud to have the support of the Denver Broncos and their fans.”

The HopeLine donation drive is part of a series of activities both Verizon and the Denver Broncos are hosting during the month of October as part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Phone donations are accepted year-round at any Verizon Wireless Communications Store across Colorado. For more information, please visit www.verizonwireless.com/hopeline.
