Broncos place second-round tenders on RFAs Shaquil Barrett, Matt Paradis; tender seven ERFAs

Before free agency officially began, the Broncos took care of some internal housekeeping.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — As the start of free agency nears, the Broncos issued tenders to several key players on their current roster.

Restricted free agents Matt Paradis and Shaquil Barrett each received a second-round tender, which would require other teams to forfeit a second-round pick to the Broncos if they offer a contract to either player and Denver chooses not to match.

Paradis has played every offensive snap over the previous three years and is a key piece of Denver’s offensive line. Barrett, who started nine games in 2017, recorded four sacks and two forced fumbles last season.

Bennie Fowler III was Denver’s lone restricted free agent who did not receive a tender.

The NFL’s deadline for restricted free agents to sign offer sheets falls on April 20.

Denver also tendered all of its exclusive rights free agents: linebacker Zaire Anderson, linebacker Jerrol Garcia-Williams, defensive end Shelby Harris, linebacker Joseph Jones, long snapper Casey Kreiter, wide receiver Jordan Taylor and offensive tackle Elijah Wilkinson.
