Broncos announce 22 roster moves

Posted Aug 30, 2014

The Broncos completed 22 roster moves to get their active roster down to the requisite 53-man roster before the start of the regular season.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos got their roster down to the league-required 53 players Saturday afternoon, making 22 transactions in the final days before the regular season officially commences.

Juwan Thompson and Isaiah Burse were the only undrafted rookies to make the roster.

With the most recent roster moves taken into the consideration, the 53-person roster can be broken down by position as such:

Quarterbacks: two
Running backs: four
Wide receivers: six
Tight ends: three
Offensive linemen: nine
Defensive linemen: eight
Linebackers: eight
Defensive backs: 10
Specialists: three

Defensive end Kenny Anunike was placed onto the injured reserve.

Kicker Matt Prater was marked as reserve/suspended, which denotes him as not part of the active roster for the duration of his four-game suspension.

The Broncos can begin adding players to the practice squad Sunday, though the limit of players has been raised to a cap of 10 from the previous size of eight.
