Broncos add NT Kyle Peko to active roster, waive Tyrique Jarrett

Posted Sep 16, 2017

Peko has had a busy two weeks since the Broncos' initial roster was set on Sept. 2.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Second-year nose tackle Kyle Peko is back on the Broncos’ active roster, as Denver promoted him from the practice squad Saturday to bolster the defensive line.

The Broncos waived rookie Tyrique Jarrett in a corresponding move.

Peko has had a busy two weeks since the Broncos’ initial roster was set on Sept. 2. He was waived, re-signed to the active roster, waived again, re-signed to the practice squad — where he spent most of 2016 — and then added to the Broncos’ 53-man roster on Saturday.

Peko joins Domata Peko Sr., Derek Wolfe, Adam Gotsis and Shelby Harris as completely healthy options for Sunday’s game against the Cowboys.

A healthy Zach Kerr would also figure into the rotation, but he was listed as questionable heading into Sunday. He was limited in practice all week with a knee injury.

The Broncos added nose tackle Ahtyba Rubin on Friday as defensive end Jared Crick headed to IR with a back injury. Head Coach Vance Joseph said Friday he did not know if Rubin would play Sunday.

Peko appeared in one regular-season game as a rookie.
