Broncos Sign Seven to Practice Squad

Posted Sep 1, 2012

The Denver Broncos have announced the signings of seven players to their 2012 practice squad.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- After trimming the roster down to 53 players, the Broncos have named seven of the members of their eight-man practice squad.

The players below will practice with the team but will not suit up for games. All of them participated in training camp at Dove Valley.

Ingram was added to the Broncos' practice squad for the final week of the 2011 regular season. Ingram caught two passes for 45 yards and a touchdown in his team’s preseason-opening win over the Chicago Bears. He was originally selected in the fifth round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles.

Defensive tackle Ben Garland was signed as a college free agent in 2010. Garland was sworn-in to the Colorado Air National Guard outside the Broncos facilities at Dove Valley during the summer.

Wide receiver Greg Orton is a first-year player from Purdue University. Orton spent the final five weeks of the 2011 regular season on the Broncos’ practice squad after competing with the team during training camp. Orton caught three passes for 57 yards during the preseason, including a 45-yard bomb that put the Broncos in position for the game-winning field goal over the Arizona Cardinals in the final preseason game.

Guard Wayne Tribue is an undrafted rookie who participated in the preseason with the Broncos. Tribue started every game for the Temple Owls in 2011 and was named third-team ALL-MAC.

Sealver Siliga is a defensive tackle who stood out in the offseason with his strength and size. The first-year tackle was first brought into the NFL by the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent.

Jeremiah Johnson is the lone running back on the practice squad. In his second year with the Broncos, Johnson saw playing time in eight games in 2011. He carried the ball 14 times for 77 yards, an average of 5.5 yards-per-carry last year. He also caught seven passes for 62 yards. In the preseason, Johnson ran the ball 17 times for 63 yards and made six receptions for 60 yards.

Safety Duke Ihenacho is the only safety on the practice squad. An undrafted rookie from San Jose State, Ihenacho made six tackles in the preseason, including one on special teams. In college, he started his last 27 games as a Spartan.
