Broncos Sign LB Paris Lenon

Posted Aug 20, 2013

The club added 12th-year veteran Paris Lenon Tuesday. Lenon has started all 16 games in six of the past seven seasons.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- With Stewart Bradley suffering a wrist injury and reports of a potential suspension for Von Miller, the Broncos added a veteran linebacker to the roster Tuesday.

The club signed 12th-year pro Paris Lenon, who has started at least 10 games in every season since 2005. He started all 16 in six of the past seven campaigns.

According to NFL.com, Lenon has accumulated 809 tackles, 12 sacks, 29 passes defensed, five interceptions, 10 forced fumbles and a defensive touchdown in his career.

The linebacker was a team captain for the Arizona Cardinals in 2011 and 2012 and made more than 100 tackles in all three of his seasons with the club.

Last year, the Arizona Pro Football Writers of America members voted Lenon the recipient of the Steve Schoenfeld Good Guy award as the player who is most professional, accessible and insightful in dealing with reporters.

Lenon was originally signed as a college free agent by the Carolina Panthers in 2000, but he first saw playing time in the NFL for the Green Bay Packers in 2002. He played there for four seasons, seeing action in all 16 games each year. His next three years came in Detroit, where his streak of 16 games played continued. In the 2009 season, he played in 15 games for the Rams before spending the previous three seasons in Arizona.

He is the only player from the XFL still playing in the NFL -- he spent the 2001 season with the Memphis Maniax.
